One-liners

5 words. A quiet AI journaling app.

One sentence. Yewmark is an AI-assisted personal journal that deliberately leaves out streaks, notifications, and gamification.

One paragraph. Yewmark is an AI-assisted personal journaling web app. The page that opens is just a textarea; the optional AI personality you pick stays out of your way until you ask. The free Quiet plan is genuinely usable (unlimited entries, three AI requests per day); paid plans from $3/month add voice transcription and longer chats. There are no streaks, no public profiles, no training on user entries. The app is operated by a single developer on a single VPS in Frankfurt, and was built in May 2026 as a spiritual successor to Dayora.ai after it went offline.

Why it exists

Most journaling apps treat showing up as the hard part, and try to bribe you into showing up with streaks, push notifications, and engagement metrics. Yewmark argues that showing up isn’t the hard part — keeping the writing honest is — and that the streak mechanic, ironically, makes journaling shallower. You write to keep the streak, not to think.

So Yewmark leaves the streak out. It leaves the public profile out. It leaves the “today’s prompt” modal out. What stays is a clean page, a chooseable second voice (Companion / Scholar / Minimalist / Coach), and a few quiet reactive emails you can turn off. The free plan is the floor, not a trial. The longer reasoning lives at /blog.

For technical depth — the multi-provider LLM router, the output-side prompt-leak detection, the deliberate single-VPS architecture — read /blog/how-yewmark-is-built. It’s also fair to quote from there.
