What’s inside

A small set of careful tools.

Yewmark does a few things, well. Each one earns its place by helping you understand your own life a little better — without asking for your attention.

Write

A clean page.

An editor that disappears. Plain prose, the cursor and nothing else — never a picker between you and a sentence.

Talk

Chat-to-Journal.

Some days the words won’t come. Open a conversation, talk it through. The thread is yours to write up later as an entry, or to leave behind.

Speak

Voice journaling.

Walk-and-talk. Record in your browser; we transcribe it and hand you a draft to edit before saving. Steady plan and up.

Notice

Mood & energy, gently tracked.

Tag a feeling in two taps, after the writing is done. See your week as a tide chart, your month as weather. No streaks to shame you, no badges to earn.

See

Patterns, not verdicts.

A morning note with yesterday’s recap, one thing we noticed, one small thing to try. A Sunday thread across the whole week. Both opt-out, on by default.

Listen

One voice. Tuned.

A single curated voice — warm, considered, grounded in your own past pages so it can be specific. We tested five flavors of AI persona; this is the one that worked. Or turn the AI off entirely and just write.

Look back

A timeline that breathes.

Browse your writing by month. Re-read any entry, edit it, or delete it. Export everything as JSON whenever you like.

Privacy

Your words stay yours.

TLS in transit, disk-level encryption at rest. Never used to train models. Delete your account and your words are purged after a 7-day grace window — sign back in to undo.

Common questions

The things people ask, before they sign up.

Is the free plan really free?
Yes. The Lite plan gives you unlimited written entries, mood and energy tracking, three AI requests per day, and full JSON export. No credit card, no time limit, no ‘Pro features’ secretly disabled. Paid plans exist so the AI bills get paid and the lights stay on.
Do you use my entries to train AI?
No. Never. Not anonymized, not aggregated, not for ‘model improvement’. Your entries don’t enter our pipeline or anyone else’s. The model providers we route through are contractually bound to the same on their business-API tiers — no training on API traffic.
What happens to my subscription if I cancel?
Cancel any time from Settings. Your plan stays active through the end of the period you’ve already paid for, then drops back to the free Lite plan. All users get a 14-day no-questions full refund on new subscriptions — see the terms for detail.
Can I export everything I’ve written?
Yes, from Settings. JSON gives the full archive (profile, every entry, every digest, even soft-deleted ones). Markdown gives a single readable document of your live entries — good for skimming or pasting into another tool.
Is voice journaling really not stored?
Right. When you use voice, the audio is uploaded, transcribed by our voice provider, and dropped. Only the transcript text reaches the database as your entry content. Voice transcription is on Steady and above.
What if I stop using my account for a long time?
Nothing happens. Your journal stays. If an account is completely dormant for 24 months (no sign-in, no entries), we send a warning email. If there’s no sign-in within 30 days of that email, the account is hard-deleted. Otherwise it’s yours, indefinitely.
Why is there no streak counter?
Because streaks pull against the thing the product is trying to be. They make you show up to keep the number going, not to think. The longest streak in the world isn’t a quality signal — it just means your phone won. More on this.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet, maybe not ever. Mobile web is fine for a textarea, and Yewmark is built to work well on a phone browser. A native app is a major commitment we’d take only if a real wave of users asked for it.
